Anyone can take private lessons! I specialize in teaching the following:

Students who wish to meet regularly to improve their skills
HIGH SCHOOL
Students wanting help with their college audition pieces
WHY SHOULD I TAKE LESSONS WITH KRISTEN?
When students take a lesson with me, they are immediately welcome to be themselves, to make mistakes, and to have fun. Learning any instrument is a challenge in itself, but lessons should be a helpful tool for the student to grow not only as a musician and a student but also as a person. I am dedicated to ensuring all of my students meet their personalized goals while enjoying every moment.
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
To me, a good teacher helps students improve their skills every time they meet and helps them feel confident. As a musician, there are many choices that you have to make, and with these choices, there needs to be a level of confidence that you should have within yourself. We will work together on tone, technique, phrasing, breathing, and articulation every week by working on scales, method books, and solo excerpts. The goal for each lesson is to encourage students to try things that might be out of their comfort zone. The goal of my studio is to have the students arrive with questions and leave with a better understanding of the music and confidence in this wonderfully unique instrument.

- The perfect option for students who wish to play with less resistance and a warmer sound.

A reed blank - $15
- A great option for your young reed maker! There are many things to learn when it comes to reed making, let me take care of tying on a blank while your student learns scraping techniques.
